The Red Deer Rural Victim Assistance area is as follows:
North - Township Road 41-3 ( 1 mile north of Milton Road)
West - 5th Meridian ( Range 1-0)
South - Highway 42 ( West of Highway 2) Highway 592 ( East of Highway 2)
East - Highway 821 ( Range Road 240)

The Red Deer Rural RCMP Detachment is unique in that, it is not based in its policing municipality. Its policying area is almost entirely the rural area of Central Alberta, with the detachment situated in the City of Red Deer.
The detachment does have a satellite office in the Town of Blackfalds. The Victim services unit attends this office every other Thursday morning, to provide the citizens of Blackfalds with the information, support and referrals they may need. This also gives the unit visibility in the community.
