Fundraising

The Red Deer Rural Victim Assistance works in partnership with the RCMP to provide support, information and referrals to victims of crime or tragedy. The unit receives no funds from the RCMP, but are provided with a work space, telephone and supplies.

The program has established partnerships with the Wild Rose Foundation, Victims of Crime, Blackfalds FCSS, Kiwanis Club Red Deer and Alberta Gaming to provide some of the funding.

Each year the unit holds its annual fundraiser Golf Tournament.

We are excited to announce that last year our tournament raised over $10,000 to provide information, referrals and support to victims of crime or tragedy in our community. As well, these funds provided ongoing training for our volunteers.

This years tournament will once again be held at River Bend Golf Course on July 21, 2005.
