Red Deer Rural Victim assistance serves the people of the counties of Red Deer and Lacombe, including the municipality of Blackfalds. At the request of a police officer, Victim Serivces Advocates come to the immediate aid of a shattered life. This may include someone who has been sexually assaulted, harassed, beated, robbed, involved in a motor vehicle accident, or experienced the sudden death of a loved one. They provide confidentiality, compassion, a listening ear, and direction on obtaining support services. Advocates accompany victims to court and track criminal proceedings for the victim, should it be required.
